چکیده

ABSTRACT Purpose: to verify contributions of acoustic spectrographic analysis in the forensic identification speakers with auditorily similar voices, considering distinctive behavior parameters: formants vowel “é”, connected speech, mean fundamental frequency Hz, linear prediction curve “é” and area; propose an objective method use analyzed parameters. Methods: a quantitative, qualitative descriptive study, conducted Pernambuco on 16 pairs male siblings, aged 18-60 years. The subjects recorded videos from which audios were extracted, numbered sent three examiners, two groups: older brothers younger brothers, for perceptual-auditory pairing. correct pairings, indicated by at least submitted analysis. statistical tests included Wilcoxon, Kruskal-Wallis Bonferroni, p<0.05. Results: results analyses not enough distinguish voices. Unprecedentedly, measurements areas generated graphs, significance was observed. Conclusion: it concluded that, among parameters studied, objectively effectiveness distinguishing

Similar Representations of Emotions across Faces and Voices

Emotions are a vital component of social communication, carried across a range of modalities and via different perceptual signals such as specific muscle contractions in the face and in the upper respiratory system. Previous studies have found that emotion recognition impairments after brain damage depend on the modality of presentation: recognition from faces may be impaired whilst recognition...

Similar facial electromyographic responses to faces, voices, and body expressions.

Observing facial expressions automatically prompts imitation, as can be seen with facial electromyography. To investigate whether this reaction is driven by automatic mimicry or by recognition of the emotion displayed we recorded electromyograph responses to presentations of facial expressions, face-voice combinations and bodily expressions, which resulted from happy and fearful stimuli. We obs...

An Auditorily Motivated Analysis Method for Room Impulse Responses

In this paper a new auditorily motivated analysis method for room impulse responses is presented. The method applies same kind of time and frequency resolution than the human hearing. With the proposed method it is possible to study the decaying sound field of a room in more detail. It is applicable as well in the analysis of artificial reverberation and related audio effects. The method, used ...

Forensic analysis of biodiesel.

The analysis of four different biodiesel blends, as well as homemade biodiesel prepared from vegetable oil, has been performed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The identification of methyl esters within the biodiesel along with any background components is made possible by recognizing their mass spectral fragmentation patterns. These fuels were subjected to typical fire scene environ...
